There are some general ways to nurture a gifted child.  One of the key ways is interacting with the child intentionally.  A parent should talk and play with the child.  Find activities and games that you can do with your child.  Gifted children love to ask questions and figure things out.  They enjoy thinking and searching.  Other ways to nurture your child is to work with your child on understanding his or her differences.  Linked under this page in the menu bar is a section on social and emotional.  In that section, there is a list of books that can be used with gifted children.  These books can be used to help your child understand life situations.  There is also a link with activities and ideas of things you can do with your child to help nurture giftedness.
